Washington, D.C.: The US Virtual Embassy has advised all American citizens in Iran to leave the country immediately, citing potential risks and uncertainties, according to international media reports.
In an official statement, the embassy urged US citizens to make plans to depart Iran without relying on assistance from the US government, warning that flights could be canceled or disrupted at any time.
The advisory also instructed Americans who are unable to leave the country to stay at home or in a safe building, and to maintain a sufficient supply of food, water, medicine, and other essentials. For those who can travel safely by land, the statement suggested considering routes to Armenia or Turkey.
The move comes amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, with authorities cautioning citizens to take all necessary precautions.
