Mazaj News (Web Desk) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially inaugurated the “PM Apna Ghar Programme,” under which affordable housing loans of up to Rs10 million will be offered on easy repayment terms.
The initiative will be rolled out across Islamabad, all four provinces, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring nationwide coverage.

Speaking at the launch event in Islamabad, the prime minister announced that the scheme aims to facilitate the construction of 500,000 housing units, with a total financial allocation of Rs3.2 trillion.
He explained that the repayment period will span 20 years. For the first 10 years, borrowers will pay a subsidized markup rate of 5 percent, while in the remaining 10 years, the rate will shift to the prevailing market level at that time.
PM Shehbaz further stated that in the first year alone, funding will be provided for 50,000 homes, with Rs321 billion allocated for this phase. The programme will allow construction of housing units of up to 10 marla.
He also said he will personally monitor the scheme’s progress every month to ensure smooth implementation, timely disbursement, and resolution of any issues.
In a related development, under the PM Fuel Package 2026, the government has digitally distributed Rs1.2 billion among more than 32,000 beneficiaries, including transport operators such as bus, truck, long-route vehicle, and delivery service drivers, aiming to ease the burden of rising fuel prices.
