Aamir Khan Reveals Third Wife’s Religion After Receiving Death Threats

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has revealed the religion of his third wife following recent death threats linked to allegations surrounding his marriages.

The controversy began after a politician in the Indian state of Maharashtra reportedly described Aamir Khan as a “brand ambassador of love jihad” while referring to his past marriages. The remarks were later supported publicly by a Hindu extremist leader from Ayodhya, who claimed that the actor’s marriages to Hindu women were intended to promote “love jihad.”

The extremist leader also allegedly announced a cash reward for anyone who killed Aamir Khan and promised to cover the legal expenses of such a person.

In a recent interview, Aamir Khan addressed the allegations and clarified that his third wife, Gauri Spratt, is not Hindu but a Christian. He added that neither his first wife, Reena Dutta, nor his second wife, Kiran Rao, had converted their religion after marriage.

“We had civil marriages, so there was no question of anyone changing their religion,”

the actor said.

Aamir Khan further explained that his family has always embraced people from different faiths. He said that both of his sisters are married to Hindu men, his cousin Mansoor married a Christian woman, and his daughter is also married to a Hindu man.

The actor emphasized that his family believes in living together with mutual respect regardless of religious background.

Aamir Khan’s Previous Marriages

Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta in 1986, and the marriage ended in 2002. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005, and the couple separated in 2021. He has since married Gauri Spratt.

Public Debate Continues

The latest revelation comes amid ongoing public debate over interfaith marriages and the allegations directed at the actor. While supporters have defended Aamir Khan’s statement about civil marriages and religious freedom, critics continue to question his personal choices.

For now, the actor has maintained that none of his wives changed their religion after marriage and that his family has a long history of interfaith relationships.
