No More Qabza: Govt Orders Swift Action to Protect Overseas Pakistanis’ Properties

Islamabad: Interior Minister of Pakistan Mohsin Naqvi has announced strong and time-bound measures to protect the property rights of Overseas Pakistanis, particularly in cases of qabza (illegal occupation) in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

According to the Interior Minister, if any Overseas Pakistani reports a case of illegal occupation or land grabbing, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad is legally bound to decide the matter within seven days. He emphasized that no individual or group will be allowed to unlawfully occupy property that rightfully belongs to Overseas Pakistanis.

Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding the investments and assets of Pakistanis living abroad. He stated that Overseas Pakistanis play a vital role in the country’s economy through remittances and investments, and protecting their rights is a top priority of the government.

“Your property rights will be fully protected. No one will be allowed to take what is lawfully yours,” the Interior Minister assured.

Investor-Friendly Environment in Islamabad

The Interior Minister further highlighted that Pakistan, especially Islamabad Capital Territory, is committed to providing a secure, transparent, and investor-friendly environment for Overseas Pakistanis. He assured that all complaints related to land grabbing, illegal possession, or harassment will be addressed swiftly and fairly.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that strict instructions have been issued to the district administration to ensure immediate action, transparency, and accountability in handling such cases. Any negligence or delay by officials will not be tolerated.
