Karachi: Several districts of Sindh and Balochistan experienced earthquake tremors on Thursday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Seismic Monitoring Centre reported.
Residents in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Dadu, Naseerabad, and nearby areas reported feeling the tremors. In Khuzdar, two tremors were recorded at 10:52 am and 11:30 am, with the second earthquake registering a magnitude of 5.6.
The epicentre of the earthquake was identified 86 kilometres northeast of Khuzdar, according to the PMD’s Seismic Monitoring Centre. Authorities continue to monitor the situation for any potential aftershocks or damages.
No immediate reports of casualties or major structural damage have been confirmed, but residents are urged to remain cautious in the affected regions.
