Second Lady Usha Vance Expecting Fourth Child, Baby Due in July 2026

Mazaj News (Web Desk) Usha Vance, wife of Vice President JD Vance, has announced that she is expecting her fourth child, with the baby due in late July 2026.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Second Lady shared that she is looking forward to welcoming a baby boy. A statement posted to her social media account confirmed, “Usha and the baby are doing well.”

The couple, both 40, already have three children: Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel.

Born and raised in the working-class suburbs of San Diego, California, Usha Vance (née Chilukuri) is the daughter of a mechanical engineer father and a molecular biologist mother who immigrated to the U.S. from Andhra Pradesh, India. She met JD Vance in 2010 while both were students at Yale Law School, participating in a discussion group focused on “social decline in white America.”

Before becoming Second Lady, Usha Vance had a notable legal career, working as a corporate litigator at Munger, Tolles & Olson in San Francisco. She also clerked for Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and appeals court judge Brett Kavanaugh prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court.

Usha Vance will be the first Second Lady to have a child while in office, although previous First Ladies have given birth during their husbands’ terms. First Lady Frances Cleveland, for example, gave birth to daughter Esther in the White House in 1893 and to her second child, Marion, outside the White House.

JD Vance, a vocal advocate for increasing birth rates in the United States, has repeatedly emphasized the importance of family growth. In 2025, he stated, “Let me say very simply: I want more babies in the United States of America.”
