ISLAMABAD: PM Shehbaz Sharif on Friday held a telephone conversation with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising the Gulf nation’s “consistent and unwavering support to Pakistan.”
According to an official press release, the leaders shared a “warm and cordial conversation” and fondly recalled their recent meetings in Islamabad and Rahim Yar Khan last month.
“The Prime Minister lauded the UAE’s steadfast support to Pakistan, which has helped the country navigate through difficult challenges,” the statement said. “This support reflects the historic, fraternal bonds between the leadership and people of both countries.”
The two leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE. They exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest and agreed to stay in close contact.
In a post on the social media platform X, PM Shehbaz said, “Had a most warm and cordial telephone conversation with my dear brother His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.”
He added that they reaffirmed the shared resolve to further strengthen the historic ties and expand cooperation. “I thanked His Highness for the UAE’s consistent support, which has helped Pakistan navigate through challenging times,” he said.
