Iran will continue talks with US but has set red lines: lawmaker

Mazaj News (Web Desk) Al Jazeera has reported that Iran is willing to continue negotiations with the United States, but only within strict and clearly defined limits.

According to Ebrahim Azizi, who heads Iran’s parliamentary National Security Committee, Tehran’s decision to stay engaged in talks does not mean it is ready to compromise without conditions or accept every proposal from the opposing side.

Azizi emphasized that Iran has established firm “red lines” that must be respected throughout the process.

When asked about the possibility of sending a delegation to Islamabad, he indicated that such a step would depend on receiving encouraging signals. He added that Iran has never been opposed to negotiations in principle, and further evaluation in the coming days could lead to progress—provided the U.S. negotiating team responds positively to Iran’s stance.
