Iran-US Nuclear Talks Advance as Araghchi Confirms ‘Guiding Principles’ Agreement

MAZAJ NEWS | International Desk Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday that the latest round of Iran-US negotiations resulted in agreement on “a set of guiding principles” that could pave the way for a potential deal.

Speaking to state television, Araghchi said discussions with the United States were more serious and constructive compared to previous rounds. He confirmed both sides would now begin drafting the text of a possible agreement but cautioned that reaching a final deal would take time.

Tehran and Washington resumed talks earlier this month after negotiations collapsed last year following Israel’s attack on Iran, which led to a 12-day conflict and limited US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said US President Donald Trump would not succeed in weakening the Islamic Republic. Khamenei also warned that any US warship deployed in the Gulf could face retaliation and expressed skepticism about the outcome of negotiations.

Tensions remain high as diplomatic efforts continue amid regional security concerns.
