The Ramazan moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, officially marking Wednesday, February 18, as the first day of the holy month in both countries.
According to Gulf News and the Saudi Press Agency, authorities confirmed the crescent sighting on Tuesday night. Afghanistan has also announced the start of Ramazan on February 18 after its Supreme Court verified moon sightings in multiple provinces.
In Pakistan, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has predicted that Ramazan is likely to begin on February 19. However, the final decision will be made by the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee after its official meeting in Peshawar. The chairman will announce the verdict based on verified testimonies from across the country.
