Pakistan, Muslim Allies Warn Israeli Violations Threaten Gaza Ceasefire

Pakistan, along with several Muslim and Arab countries, has cautioned that Israel’s continued breaches of the Gaza ceasefire threaten peace and stability across the region.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Pakistan joined Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in strongly condemning what they described as Israel’s repeated violations of the truce. The countries, all founding members of US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace, said the violations have led to the death and injury of more than a thousand Palestinians.

The warning followed a fresh wave of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza on Saturday, described as among the deadliest since the ceasefire announced in October. The strikes killed more than 30 people, including three young girls from the same family, and targeted residential houses, tents sheltering displaced people, and a police facility.

Hamas, which maintains control over nearly half of Gaza, accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire but did not confirm whether any of its fighters or installations were hit. Nearly all of Gaza’s more than two million residents are currently living in temporary shelters or damaged buildings.

“These actions risk inflaming tensions and undermining ongoing efforts to consolidate calm and restore stability,” the Foreign Office said, noting that the violations come at a sensitive time when regional and international stakeholders are working to advance the second phase of President Trump’s peace plan and implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

The foreign ministers of the participating countries said the repeated ceasefire violations pose a serious challenge to the political process and obstruct attempts to move Gaza toward a more stable phase, both in security and humanitarian terms. They stressed that full adherence to the ceasefire is essential for the success of the next phase of the peace initiative.

The ministers called on all sides to show maximum restraint, respect their obligations, and avoid steps that could derail the current process. They also emphasized the importance of maintaining the ceasefire to enable early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza.

The joint statement reaffirmed support for a just and durable peace, grounded in the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood, in accordance with international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
