Mazaj News (Web Desk) The membership policy of Islamabad Club has drawn renewed attention after details of its fee structure were shared in the Senate, revealing varying charges for different groups, including ordinary citizens and specific official categories.
According to the information presented in the upper house, the membership fee for general citizens has been set at Rs. 7 million. The briefing also noted that a reduced fee applies to certain segments, such as members of parliament, who are eligible for membership at a cost of Rs. 6 lac.
Meanwhile, sources within the Islamabad Club say that although the Rs. 7 million fee applies to new applicants, the club is currently not accepting fresh memberships. These sources further claim that government officers and their children are charged a lower fee of approximately Rs. 3 million, indicating that membership costs differ by category despite the absence of an open intake.
The club’s membership fees have remained under public scrutiny in recent months, particularly after reports surfaced about the revision of private membership charges to Rs. 7 million, highlighting the increasing expense of securing lifetime access to the prestigious club in the federal capital.
