ISLAMABAD Dec: 20 The Ministry of Finance has released an official document detailing federal fund transfers to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), stating that the province received more than Rs8400 billions from the federal government over the past 15 years.
According to the document, the KP government received Rs5867 billion under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award since 2010. The ministry clarified that NFC transfers are made fortnightly, and that the KP government currently has no outstanding dues against the federation.
Additional Funds for Counterterrorism Burden
The document further stated that since 2010, KP has been receiving an additional one percent share under the NFC framework to compensate for the province’s extra burden due to terrorism. Under this head, the province has so far received Rs705 billion.
Funds for Merged Districts
According to the Ministry of Finance, the federal government has transferred Rs704 billion from its own share to KP for the newly merged districts since 2019.
The document also revealed that more than Rs46 billion has been released to the KP government since December 17, 2025.
Dispute Over Figures
The release of the document comes after Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohaib Afridi claimed that the province had received only Rs2200 billions from the federal government, a statement now contradicted by the finance ministry’s official figures.
