Concerns over the health of Imran Khan, particularly regarding his eyesight, have intensified as lawmakers from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and members of the opposition alliance Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aiyeen Pakistan (TTAP) continued their protest sit-ins for a fourth straight day on Monday.
The demonstrations are underway at Parliament House, Parliament Lodges, and KP House, resulting in the complete closure of Constitution Avenue. TTAP leaders have declared that the protest will persist until the jailed former premier is transferred from Adiala Jail to Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital for medical treatment.

The issue of Imran Khan’s health has become the latest flashpoint between the government and the opposition alliance comprising PTI and TTAP. The development follows a medical report submitted by his counsel and Supreme Court amicus curiae, Barrister Salman Safdar, which disclosed that the PTI founder has been diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), a serious eye disorder.
CRVO typically affects older individuals and is often associated with underlying cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, elevated cholesterol, diabetes, and heart disease. According to the report, the former prime minister — incarcerated since August 2023 — has reported losing approximately 85% of vision in his right eye.
After the medical findings surfaced, PTI leaders and members of his family voiced alarm over his condition and demanded his immediate transfer to a specialized medical facility.
Among those participating in the sit-ins are National Assembly Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, and former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
However, sources told Geo News that Imran Khan recently underwent a detailed one-hour examination conducted by five senior doctors. They indicated that the pain in his right eye has significantly subsided, with further improvement anticipated as treatment continues. The medical report has been submitted to the relevant authorities.
The examination was carried out in compliance with a directive from the Supreme Court of Pakistan, which had set February 16 as the deadline for submission of a comprehensive medical report.
Meanwhile, jail officials have sent his complete medical records — including details of blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, blood sugar levels, and other vital signs — to the Punjab Home Department.
Separately, the former premier has approached the Islamabad High Court seeking suspension of his sentence in the Toshakhana-II case and requesting bail on medical and humanitarian grounds.
Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were handed 17-year prison terms in the Toshakhana-II case, which relates to the alleged undervalued purchase and subsequent sale of state gifts.
In addition, a separate petition has been filed seeking an expedited hearing on a plea to suspend his sentence in the high-profile Al-Qadir Trust case, commonly known as the £190 million reference.
