Security forces eliminated four Indian-sponsored terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing, ISPR, confirmed on Thursday. The terrorists, linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (Fitna al Khawarij), were involved in multiple violent incidents in the area. Weapons and ammunition were recovered during the operation.
The operation follows a recent terrorist attack in Bajaur that martyred 11 security personnel, highlighting a recent surge in violence in KP. According to the Annual Security Report 2025 by CRSS, fatalities in the province rose 44% year-on-year, from 1,620 in 2024 to 2,331 in 2025.
