Venezuela’s vice president assumes presidential duties following court order

ISLAMABAD Jan 4: Venezuela’s Vice President has assumed presidential responsibilities following a court order. Speaking at a news conference, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez rejected statements made by US President Donald Trump and demanded the immediate release of Nicolás Maduro.

Delcy Rodríguez stated that Nicolás Maduro remains the sole legitimate president of Venezuela and emphasized that Venezuela will not become a colony of any country. She also reaffirmed the government’s determination to defend the nation and its natural resources.

It is worth noting that the US military carried out attacks on multiple locations in Venezuela, including the capital, Caracas, and arrested President Nicolás Maduro and his wife before transferring them to the United States.

Explosions were reported in Caracas, and low-flying aircraft were seen over various parts of the city. According to US media, the attacks were ordered by President Donald Trump, and at least seven explosions were reported in the Venezuelan capital.
