Islamabad, Dec 16 :Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a polio vaccination team in Bajaur, expressing deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of a police officer and injuries sustained by a civilian.
In a statement, the prime minister prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and for patience and strength for the bereaved family. He also wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the relevant authorities to immediately identify those responsible for the attack and ensure they are brought to justice.
He termed the attack on workers striving to eradicate polio from the country as highly condemnable and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue the polio vaccination campaign across Pakistan until the disease is completely eliminated.
