Sarfaraz bugti elected 8th chief of the Bugti Tribe

Quetta  Dec 29: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has been elected as the 8th Chief of the Bugti tribe with the unanimous consent of tribal elders and chiefs.

Following his selection, a formal turban-tying (dastarbandi) ceremony was held at his ancestral home in Baker, attended by respected elders, tribal notables, and prominent personalities from the Bugti tribe.

On the occasion, Nawabzada Zamran Saleem Bugti tied the turban on Sarfaraz Bugti and officially announced his election as the eighth tribal chief. He expressed confidence that under Sarfaraz Bugti’s leadership, the tribe would work collectively for unity, peace, and development.

Tribal elders present at the ceremony expressed full confidence in the newly elected chief.

Accepting the responsibility in accordance with tribal traditions, Sarfaraz Bugti thanked the tribe and said that serving the Bugti people, ensuring justice, and maintaining consensus would remain his top priorities.

Addressing the gathering, the Balochistan chief minister also urged those who had taken up arms to lay down their weapons and return, stating that the doors of the state are open for them.

He emphasized that no ideology can be imposed through violence, adding that the state knows how to maintain its writ. “Our life and death are with Pakistan, and will remain so,” he said.
