ASHGABAT, Dec 12: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday exchanged greetings with several world leaders on the sidelines of an international forum held to mark the International Year of Peace and Trust 2025, the International Day of Neutrality, and the anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

On the margins of the event, the prime minister held informal discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, exchanging views on matters of mutual interest.

The prime minister, who addressed the forum earlier in the day, attracted attention as leaders gathered for informal interactions and discussions.

Footage released by the Prime Minister’s Office showed Prime Minister Shehbaz warmly greeting President Putin and President Zhaparov, while engaging in separate conversations with other participating leaders.

Earlier, the prime minister joined global leaders at the Neutrality Monument, where they took part in a wreath-laying ceremony. Addressing the forum later, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the peaceful settlement of international disputes and called on the international community to press the Afghan Taliban to fulfill their international obligations and curb terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil.
