Islamabad Dec 31: Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of violence in Yemen and reiterated its full support for Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity.
A Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan supports all efforts aimed at achieving sustainable peace and stability in Yemen, and strongly opposes any unilateral actions by any party in the conflict. Such unilateral measures, the spokesperson added, could further escalate tensions, undermine peace efforts, and threaten regional security.
In response to the ongoing situation, Pakistan welcomed regional efforts to reduce tensions and maintain peace in Yemen. The spokesperson emphasized Pakistan’s complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the security of the Kingdom, noting that Saudi Arabia’s security is vital for Pakistan and that all possible cooperation will continue.
The spokesperson also stressed that resolving the Yemen issue should follow a path of dialogue and diplomacy. Pakistan hopes that the Yemeni people, along with regional powers, will work toward a comprehensive and lasting solution, noting that a durable settlement in Yemen is crucial for the stability and security of the wider region.
