Govt fails as protests spread to 78 cities in Iran

Tehran Jan 6: Amid violent protests spreading across Iran due to a worsening economic crisis, Chief Justice Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei has ordered decisive action against rioters.

He made it clear that the legitimate demands of peaceful protesters will be heard, but no leniency will be shown toward destructive elements and their supporters.

According to the judiciary’s Mizan News Agency, the Chief Justice has issued instructions to the Attorney General and provincial prosecutors to ensure strict enforcement of the law.
