Mazaj News (Web Desk) Two women were among three civilians injured after Afghan Taliban forces reportedly opened fire on a civilian area in South Waziristan, according to security sources. Officials described the incident as a failed infiltration attempt by Fitna al-Khawarij militants, followed by retaliatory firing from Pakistani forces.
Security sources said the incident took place in the Zlol Khel area of Angoor Adda, where Afghan Taliban forces allegedly initiated unprovoked firing after Pakistan Army successfully foiled an attempt by militants to cross the border into Pakistan.
They added that Pakistani forces conducted an operation that stopped the infiltration attempt. Following this failure, Afghan Taliban forces allegedly targeted civilian locations in what officials termed an act of retaliation after being pushed back.
As a result of the firing, three civilians, including two women, sustained injuries and were shifted to Wana Hospital for medical treatment, according to sources.
In response to the cross-border provocation, Pakistani forces reportedly launched retaliatory action and destroyed several Afghan posts, security sources further stated.
