President, Prime Minister express condolences over death of Khaleda Zia

Islamabad, Dec 30 : President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed profound sorrow over the demise of former Bangladesh Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Khaleda Zia.

In separate messages shared on their official X accounts, the president and the prime minister extended condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Bangladesh, while paying tribute to the late leader’s contributions and leadership.

“Her leadership and services will be remembered with great respect,” President Zardari said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noted that Khaleda Zia’s lifelong service to Bangladesh, along with her role in the country’s progress and development, had left an enduring legacy. He also recalled her as a sincere friend of Pakistan and said that the government and people of Pakistan stand in solidarity with the people of Bangladesh in this moment of grief.

Both leaders prayed to Allah Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and patience and strength to the people of Bangladesh to bear the loss.
