Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is ready for serious negotiations, the government is also prepared to engage in dialogue. However, he stressed that talks cannot be held on the basis of illegal demands or blackmailing, and only legitimate issues can be discussed.
Speaking during a federal cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister said that PTI and its allies have recently been talking about dialogue. He added that if they are sincere, the Government of Pakistan is ready to sit down and talk.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that he has repeatedly stated in the National Assembly that the government is open to negotiations if PTI shows seriousness. He emphasized that dialogue can move forward only within the framework of lawful and justified demands.
He further said that political harmony among all parties is essential for Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
