ISLAMABAD Dec 21: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with other national leaders, have congratulated the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team on winning the Asia Cup.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, President Asif Ali Zardari praised the young players for their outstanding performance, saying that the magnificent victory against India in the final reflects the team’s hard work and determination. He added that the success of the Under-19 team is a source of pride and happiness for the entire nation.
The President further said that the young players’ victory is a ray of hope for future international competitions and appreciated the efforts of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the coaching staff.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the team, stating that Pakistani players displayed excellent performance and made history by defeating India in the final. He said the nation is proud of its young cricketers and expressed confidence that the Under-19 team will continue to bring glory to the country at the international level.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated the national Under-19 team on winning the Asia Cup final, saying that the young cricketers have won the hearts of the Pakistani people. She said that by defeating India, the players raised the green and white flag high.
She especially praised Sameer Munhas for playing a brilliant innings and playing a key role in the team’s victory, calling the win a success for the entire country.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also lauded the team’s performance, highlighting Sameer Munhas’s commendable batting against India. He said the victory was the result of the players’ collective effort and dedication.
Mohsin Naqvi added that this triumph is a moment of joy and pride for cricket fans, and said that the victory reflects the Pakistan Cricket Board’s investment in emerging talent.
