Private airline staff found responsible for tearing passenger’s passport at Karachi Airport

Karachi Dec 18: An investigation into an incident in which a passenger’s passport was torn at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, has concluded that the staff of a private airline were at fault.

According to details, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) conducted an inquiry into the incident, which occurred at the airline counter just as the passenger was about to depart abroad.

Sources said that the investigation found the airline’s counter staff responsible for tearing the passenger’s passport. The incident had sparked concern after reports emerged that the passport was damaged at the time of departure.

Further action is expected to be taken in light of the findings of the inquiry.
