Terrorist network behind suicide attack on FC headquarters identified

PESHAWAR: Investigators have identified the terrorist network responsible for the suicide attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar, officials said on Thursday.

According to investigation authorities, the suicide bombers were affiliated with a proscribed terrorist organization. The attackers had reportedly stayed in Peshawar for several days prior to carrying out the assault.

During their stay, investigators said, the attackers familiarized themselves with city routes, while facilitators arranged safe houses and suicide vests for the bombers.

Officials revealed that more than 150 individuals have so far been interrogated in connection with the case.

Last month’s suicide attack on the FC Headquarters resulted in the martyrdom of three security personnel and left five others injured. The three attackers, including the suicide bomber, were also killed in the operation.

Investigations into the case are ongoing to dismantle the entire facilitation and support network involved in the attack.
