Former DG ISI Faiz Hameed sentenced to 14 years rigorous Imprisonment

ISLAMABAD Dec 11: A Field General Court Martial has sentenced former Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI), Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed, to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on here on Thursday.

According to the ISPR, proceedings under the Pakistan Army Act were initiated against Faiz Hameed, and the Field General Court Martial process continued for 15 months.

The charges against the retired general included engagement in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority and official resources, and causing unlawful harm to relevant individuals.

Following a lengthy and diligent legal process, Faiz Hameed was found guilty on all four charges. The court’s sentence will take effect from December 11, 2025.

The ISPR said that the Field General Court Martial fully observed all legal requirements and that the accused was provided all legal rights, including the appointment of a team of defense lawyers.

The military’s media wing added that separate proceedings are underway regarding the accused’s alleged collusion with political elements, political unrest, and issues of instability.

Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed has previously served as DG ISI and as Corps Commander Peshawar.
