PATAN, Azad Kashmir: A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday when a passenger van travelling from Hajira to Rawalpindi plunged into a Jehlum river near Pattan, raising fears of multiple casualties.
According to eyewitnesses, the Hiace van skidded off the road, tumbled down a deep gorge, and was swept away by the strong river current.
Rescue teams reached the site immediately and have begun search and recovery efforts. Initial reports suggest that several passengers were on board, but the exact number and details of the injured or deceased have not yet been confirmed.
Rescue officials say that the strong water current and the difficult terrain are hindering the operation.
