Security forces have killed nine Indian-backed Khawarij terrorists in two intelligence-based operations conducted in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts of Tank and Lakki Marwat, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
According to ISPR, the first operation was carried out in Tank, where forces targeted a hideout of Fitnat-ul-Khawarij, resulting in the killing of seven terrorists.
In a separate intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat, security forces exchanged fire with militants, killing two more terrorists.
ISPR stated that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the dead terrorists, who were involved in multiple acts of terrorism. Clearance operations are ongoing in the surrounding areas to dismantle remaining terrorist networks. The forces reaffirmed that such operations will continue until the complete elimination of terrorism from the country.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the successful operations. They lauded the forces’ professionalism, timely action, and commitment to defeating the designs of the terrorists.
The leaders said the nation is proud of the courage and competence of the security forces, who continue to secure major successes against Fitnat-ul-Khawarij and remain determined to restore lasting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
